UTUPS helps with pedagogical support
A new teaching enviroment has been launched to help with university pedagogical studies for university teachers and doctoral students at the University of Turku. If you’re clever enough you can spot familiar faces when browsing at the pages or looking the videos. 🙂
UTUPS news in intranet (in Finnish, only UTU accounts)
http://utupedasupport.utu.fi/ is the link to the teaching enviroment for those in need. Password can be found from the news page above (only UTU accounts).

Celebrations!
Today we had an afternoon break to celebrate Minnea and Isabella for their achievements. Minnea got her first publication out about the effect of Mn and Cr doping on the up-conversion luminescence from NaYF4:Yb3+,Er3+ and Isabella graduated as a Master of Science. Congratulations to both!
Minnea’s article can be found behind a link here http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.optmat.2016.01.016. It will be added to our publication list after it has got page numbers.
New faces!
For the year 2016 we have a pleasure to have additional power to our group in the form of two new post docs from Brazil, Liana and Zé. Liana’s research area is focused on studies of photoluminescence properties on aluminates materials doped with Cr3+ and rare earths and Zé is investigating the photoluminescence of sunlight-activated persistent phosphors based on Ti3+ and Cr3+.
We hope that you guys have a pleasant time in Finland with us and also that the snow would melt before 1st of May.
